Changes

In the past year the Zeta Chi is fully involved Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma has become an even closer group of girls through scholarship, leadership, and philanthropy. At the Province Meeting in Greek Week2013, an annual week dedicated to friendly competitionZeta Chi was honored with the Sisterhood and Morale Award. Two members of the Chapter, Lauren Garner and Greek unity. In additionDeanna Clark, also received the Undergraduate Kappa Kappa GammaScholarship for 2013. We continued our tradition of attending the Marist Singers and Marist Dance Ensemble shows in order to support our sisters, has participated in a number of campus wide while we also had fun at other sisterhood events organized by such as ice skating, having a new sub committee of picnic at the Marist College Student GovernmentVanderbilt mansion, taking a self defense class, which advocates campus club unity. and having a Kappa Kappa Gamma fully supports other Greek Organizations. This semester Kindergarten day where we will be participating distressed with coloring and supporting another on campus sorority at a zumbathon eventother fun, nostalgic activities. Zeti Philanthropy events that Zeta Chi will also be participating had the opportunity to take part in included visiting a nursing home within Poughkeepsie, taking the Polar Plungefor the Special Olympics, having a huge local Bake Sale for Relay for Life, running a RIF event that benefits the Special Olympics. We have extended the invite at Clinton Elementary School reading to join our team children, creating a reading carnival for Bridges to the other Greek Organizations. This year in particularHope tutoring program, Zeta Chi is focused on increasing Greek unityhosting a Bake Sale for Breast Cancer Awareness, and creating a more interactive environmentdonating Christmas gifts to children through participating with Marist’s Giving Tree program.

The Zeta Chi These past few years for Membership have been very exciting as we watch the new member classes and chapter is very active on several forms of social mediagrow. We regularly post photos, upcoming events, fundraisers, 've had fun themes to get the chapter and birthdays on Facebook, TwitterPNMs excited at recruitment, like Disney and InstagramBreakfast at Tiffany's. One of the challenges that the Zeta Chi also has a blog that sisters contribute posts Chapter had to overcome was the large group of new members in the Spring of 2013. The Chapter had never taken in so many new girls at once and it was difficult to get used to each several times each monththe larger pledge class size. Topics that have been covered on The Chapter overcame this challenge by trying even harder to get to know one another, meeting with owl pals, bonding the blog include study abroad experiencespledge class of 25, big/little weekand attending sophomore, i-weekjunior, philanthropy and senior eventsto get to know the girls in each grade even better. Activities put on by Standards in our Core Groups, like Jeopardy focusing on Kappa facts and more. In addition to these social media handleshistory, our chapter also appeared in Poughkeepsie Journal last semester for brought the Chapter and the RIF event we held at an after school programnew girls even closer together.

Marist College has been undergoing many changes on campus with the renovations to the Lowell Thomas Communications Center last spring and now the beginning of a major addition to the Student Center. Marist's student population is growing rapidly with each passing year, and so is the Zeta Chi chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. This past week we were proud to welcome 26 new members! The Zeta Chi chapter is a group of amazing girls who have all been very involved in making improvments improvements to our chapter in areas including academics, philanthropy, and campus involvement.
