During the month of March, Knox College's National Panhellenic Council (NPC aka Panhell) hosted its first annual Wellness Week, which included participating in a clothing swap with Knox College's other NPC sororities, Delta Delta Delta; Phi Beta Phi; and Alpha Sigma Alpha. Just before spring break, we initiated our 8 NMs, some of whom were elected onto chapter council the following day during elections, proving that our chapter nurtures leaders.
In April, our Our incoming 2014-15 Chapter Council chapter council started spring term off by participating in a weekend of filled with bonding and training at our annual the Kappa Kabin. Kappa Kabin hosted at is a cabin that adviser, Stephanie Bailey’s cabin Bailey owns in Peoriaand allows us to use. That following weekend, Eta Kappa hosted information we held a continuous open bidding (COB aka informal recruitment, ) event themed “Spring into Kappa,” welcoming three ." We welcomed 3 additional sisters to the our chapter. During the month of April, the Alpha Deuteron Chapter of Monmouth College hosted Eta Kappa for its then invited us to attend their Love & Loyalty Teaevent around the same time. At the end of April, Eta Kappa participated in the Knox campus’s College's annual Greek Week titled, was held with the theme “Greek TV” which they competed against other Greek-letter organizations in fun bonding activitiesTV. Along, with Greek WeekAround this time, Standards surprised the standards committee surprised rest of the chapter with a secret standards field trip hosted sisterhood event at Lake Storey were sisters cooked , where we grilled hamburgers, played games, and enjoyed played in the lake. During the month of In May, Eta Kappa hosted its annual Formal event hosted formal at Cherry St. restaurant. Also in May Eta Kappa held Street Bar and Rstaurant and its annual Academic Excellence banquet Banquet in the Common Room located the academic building of Old Main. Towards the end of spring term, Eta Kappa we initiated our 3 new members, and said goodbye to 9 strong and capable graduating seniors.
Returning to Knox in September, Eta Kappa geared the term towards building sisterhood and friendship. In October, Eta Kappa hosted their annual Homecoming event, having an open house for graduated alumni to come and chat with active members. Following Homecoming Weekend, Eta Kappa hosted its fall fundraiser, Save-A-Heart whose proceeds benefitted the American Heart Association. During the month of October, Knox’s Panhellenic Council hosted a Wellness Week in which sororities on campus participated in yoga and desserts. At the end of October, Eta Kappa participated in Sigma Chi’s annual Derby Days, which included pumpkin carving and a talent show with all proceeds benefitting Safe Harbor. Also, in October Eta Kappa collaborated with the Tri Delta Chapter of Knox College hosting a pot-lock dessert event playing games and bonding. The year 2014 was an exciting time for Eta Kappa to grow as a chapter.
