This is the silver cup that was presented to Minnie Stewart Nelson at the birth of her first child, Harvey Stewart Nelson. Founder Louisa Stevenson Miller recalled, “When Minnie brought home the first Kappa baby, we went to Judge Stewart’s carrying the biggest, most engraved silver cup we could get for our money, and decided to let the baby hear and enjoy our Kappa songs. Anyhow, Grandmother Stewart came and took the baby away from us, and her glance as she left us looked to me like Kappa stock had dropped below par.”
