==Highlights of 2011-2019==
==Highlights of 2011== Over the course of the past year, the Delta Iota chapter of LSU participated in many campus and greek events. Such events included: Sigma Alpha Epsilon Splashdown, Kappa Sigma Kick-off, Delta Kappa Epsilon Pedal for the Poor, Pi Kappa Alpha's Capture the Flag,and countless others. Our chapter has also supported and aided the philanthropies of all Greeks on campus, such as Kappa Delta's Blood Drive, and Tri Delt's Delta Desserts. Kappa competed successfully in Greek athletic events. Kappa placed first in Capture the Flag, and the freshmen class placed first in KappaSigma Kick-off.  Many of our members also participated in Intramural sports on behalf of KKG. The KKG soccer team was very successful this year placing first by defeating Phi Mu in the final. The volleyball team took second after a tough loss against the Tri Delts. Besides numerous campus involvements, the Delta Iota chapter has continued its tradition on emphasizing the importance of philanthropy. Kappa hosted the Kappa Klassic once again and raised over $30,000 dollars for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We also hosted the first annual Kappa Krawfish,an event aimed to raise money for RIF (Reading is Fundamental). Our members are also required to be involved in charitable work and organizations outside of campus. Some members volunteer at hospitals, work at soup kitchens, or visit the local Humane Society. This past year our actives have placed fifth amongst the sororities in overall GPA.We also hosted another successful Founder's Day at our house, in which we invited several alumnae to be recognized for their years as a Kappa. The alumnae read letters of their fond memories of Kappa. Our chapter also received awards from Greek Life such as Outstanding Chapter and the Xi Province award for Sisterhood.  '''Campus:''' Louisiana State University has persevered in their goal to become nationally recognized. LSU has the highest graduation rate of any public university in Louisiana, and US News and World Report ranked them in the top tier of national universities. It is also ranked in the top 16 of most popular universities. Despite the current economy, LSU has continued to improve its campus. The University made long term capital investments in enhancement including expansion to the Business Education Complex, Choppin Hall Annex, a new band hall, construction and betterment of new and existing dorms, and amplification of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU also continued to receive awards for its academic excellence. Many faculty members have earned national awards such as LSU AgCenter Professor, Donald L. Thompson, who was given the Equine Science Award for his research.  '''Chapter:''' Overall the Delta Iota Chapter has developed into a more responsible and scrupulous refelction of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Regretfully, we were given a warning of probation with review in January 2012, but due to adjustments within our members and the leadership of our chapter council, we improved significantly. Proper risk management techniques were utilized and followed at every social function, and every social function proved to be a success with no gimmicks. Our chapter has truly changed for the better and the future looks very promising for our Delta Iota Chapter. As well as improving risk management, Kappa continued to be involved in many aspects of campus and community life. Our chapter initiated its first ever Kappa Krawfish, a crawfish boil which raises money for Reading is Fundamental. Members of the chapter also organized groups to read to local children at their schools. Campus involvment also augmented over the past year. Our members took part in many Panhellenic events and represented Kappa to the best of their ability.  Within our chapter, involvement skyrocketed as well. More and more members participated in Kappa functions and were eager to help the chapter in anyway. Our use of commitees , such as academic, helped to better chapter engagment also. The Delta Iota Chapter placed more emphasis on academics and the importance of being phenomenal students throughout the past year. Our new members placed second on the row in GPA, and Kappa continued to offer more help and study aids to its members. Overall, the past year of Delta Iota was one of improvement.  The Delta Iota Chapter has been struggling with overall GPA, sisterhood and unity. To overcome these obstacles, our Vice President of Academics implemented and continued many programs and resources for our chapter members. Members of the Academic Committee are each assigned a group of members to periodically check on their current grades. The Committee offered help to the members and made them aware of the many assets that the University offers, such as tutors. Besides help, the committee presented a type of incentive for good study habits. Each week active members entered the amount of hours they studied. At the next meeting, a study girl of the week was chosen and would receive some type of gift card to a local business. Also any girls that had unfortunately placed below our required GPA were required to study at the house for certain amounts of time. In order to promote unity and sisterhood our chapter hosted several "sisterhood events". Besides bid day, for which our 92 new members enjoyed a classy pool party, events included going to the movie theater, attending a haunted house together, participating in a yogalates class, and battling it out in a friendly game of laser tag. Over the past year, the Delta Iota chapter has grown in unity and has become a refuge and sanctuary of some sort for our members.   ==Highlights of 2012== Over the course of this past year, the Delta Iota chapter of Kappa at LSU has participated in many campus wide and greek events. They will be a part of Fall 2013 recruitment, and make the size of the pledge classes more manageable for each chapter, we are very excited about having them!  Overall, the Delta Iota Chapter has developed into a more responsible and involved chapter. In the past year, we were taken off warning of probation, for all of the achievements and progress that we have made. Our members took part in many Panhellenic events and represented Kappa to the best of their ability. Within our chapter, involvement has increased greatly. We have implemented a "Kappa Kash" system to advertise and emphasize involvement in different Kappa and campus wide events with prizes and other incentives. Within the past year, there have been some new changes and updates to Louisiana State University's campus. Some of these include: Patrick F. Taylor Hall's construction completed on campus; the University Recreation Center has been renovated to include one of the largest indoor tracks in the nation; and a facelift has been completed to the outside of Middleton Library. Greekwise, there have been major changes to a Fraternity incident on campus last fall. Tailgating for the Tigers will not be the same, and Greek tailgates now will be held inside their fraternity houses instead of the Parade Grounds. Safety across campus has been increased overall, with better lighting and more officers present on campus. As a chapter, we are looking forward to the future, learning from our past, and making the Delta Iota chapter a highly respected and responsible chapter, both nationally and locally.

'''Philanthropy'''

Delta Iota chapter has continued its tradition of emphasizing importance on philanthropy. Delta Iota supported the philanthropies of other chapters on camps including Tri Delta's Desserts to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and Cheesy with DG, and Phi Mu Phright Night. We also put on our own blood drive with Sigma Nu. Delta Iota has raised the most money of all Kappa organizations worldwide. Kappa hosted the Kappa Klassic this past Spring of 2017 raising around $54,000 and also had it in the Fall of 2017, and raised about $60,000 for St Jude's Children's Hospital Dream Day Foundation. Members of our chapter got to see how our hard work paid off by attending the Dream Day event, where patients spent a fun-filled, carnival-themed day in Baton Rouge. We also put on a silent auction for the Kappa Foundation in the spring of 2017 while raising $5,454 and in the fall of 2017 we raised around $4,000. Delta Iota hosts the largest Panhellenic event called Kappa Krawfish where we raised money for our other philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental, by providing crawfish and live music.

Our chapter supports St. Jude's Children's Hospital because we believe that these children deserve the chance to receive the treatment that they need. While these families already have to deal with the struggles that come with sickness, we attempt to alleviate financial issues by donating our philanthropic funds. Kappa Kappa Gamma also supports Reading is Fundamental because this program benefits the children that are here in our own community. We donate money and books to the children at underdeveloped schools. Members of our chapter visit these schools and have one-on-one time to meet and interact with the children to whom these books are going. It is so rewarding to see where our money is going and how much joy it brings to the children and their families.

Some of these include: the opening of new restaurants on campus, including City Pork and the renovation of the Memorial Bell Tower. Greek wise, there has been major changes due to a fraternity incident on campus that occurred in the fall of 2017. Rather than tailgating during football season taking place on the Parade Grounds, it took place inside of the fraternity houses for the first half of the season, and it then moved to outside of the houses. Safety campus wide as been increased overall with better lighting and officers present on campus as well. For Delta Iota, we remain with roughly 300 members. Our members took part in multiple Panhellenic events down sorority row and our chapter is involved on campus with continuing to grow daily. As a chapter, we are looking forward to the future, learning from our past, and making the Delta Iota chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma a highly respected and responsible chapter, both nationally and locally.

Louisiana State University has reached their goal of becoming nationally recognized; It has been ranked as a top tier university on the national rank. The University has made long term investments in enhancement including expansion to the Patrick F. Taylor Hal, University Recreation Center has been renovated, to include the largest track in the nation. There has also been improvements to Middleton Library and Spruce Hall, Business Education Complex, a new band hall, construction and betterment of new and existing dorms, and the amplification of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Our chapter is also excited to build a new sorority house on campus this summer. This coming May in 2019, our current house will be torn down. Over the course of the 2019 academic year, we will build a beautiful, new house. This means that many changes will take place during the next academic year, including finding a new place to hold our weekly chapter meetings and Fall Recruitment of 2019. In these past months, our members took part in many Panhellenic events and represented Kappa to the best of their ability. One way of implementing this involvement has been a requirement of our members to participate in at least two Panhellenic events down the row.

Delta Iota chapter has continued its tradition of emphasizing importance on philanthropy. Delta Iota supported the philanthropies of other chapters on campus including Tri Delta’s Desserts to benefit St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Kappa Delta’s Girl Scouts, and Cheesy with DG. Delta Iota has raised the most money of all Kappa organizations worldwide. Kappa hosted the Kappa Klassic this past Fall of 2018 raising around $50,000 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital Dream Day Foundation. Members of our chapter got to see how our hard work paid off by attending the Dream Day event, called Fishin’ Galore, where patients spent a fun-filled, carnival-themed day in Clinton, La in May 2018. We also put on a silent auction for the Kappa Foundation in the fall of 2018, raising $12,000, which we donated to the Rose McGill Foundation. Delta Iota hosts the largest Panhellenic event called Kappa Krawfish, where we raised $13,000 for our other philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental, by providing crawfish and live music. We also held a Reading is Key event in November 2019 at Wildwood Elementary. With the help of Kappa members’ generous donation of over 2,000 books, each student was able to take over two books, while the remaining books were donated to the school library.

Our chapter supports St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital because we believe that these children deserve the chance to receive the treatment that they need. While these families already have to deal with the struggles that come with the sickness, we attempt to alleviate financial issues by donating our philanthropic funds. Kappa Kappa Gamma also supports Reading is Fundamental because this program benefits the children that are here in our own community. We donate money and books to the children at undeveloped schools. Members of our chapter visit these schools and have one-on-one time to meet and interact with the children that these books are going to. It is so rewarding to see where our money is going and how much joy it brings to the children and their families.

==Highlights of 2019==

Our Chapter President, Dani Hebert received the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Scholarship this past year. Anna Duplechin and Helen Mason recieved the LSU Accounting Scholarship. Sarah Crump, Mary Oliver, and Rainey Charbonnet were elected to the Interior Design Club executive board. Caroline Mitchell received the Kappa Kappa Gamma Scholarship. Anna Huthnance received the Ruth Vordenbaumen Award. Elizabeth Cole received the NWLA SHRM Scholarship. We participated in a tradition we have had here at LSU with Phi Beta Phi called "Monmouth" where we do a friendly field day competition. Our goal was to put on a successful recruitment and get a great pledge class. WE are in a temporary house, while our new Kappa house is being built, and we did a great job and reached our goal. We had a few girls attend the convention in Atlanta with one of our advisors.

The recent changes on campus include the new instated rule of no hard alcohol at Greek life
events. Since there was a death of a fellow Greek like fraternity member on LSU's campus,
this rule has been in place. There is also a new hazing policy and there is a zero tolerance for hazing on
LSU's campus. The chapter's overall nature is cooperative with these new rules in place
and we understand why these are important rules to keep all of Greek life safe.

The Delta Iota chapter supports the St. Jude's Dream Day Foundation. We choose to support this because the
co-founder Ms. Marty, was an LSU Kappa herself. We help put on an event on her farm in Clinton, Louisiana for St. Jude's patients and their Families.

To celebrate Founders Day this year, we rented the ballroom at the student union and had a sit down catered lunch. The whole chapter, our House Mom, and advisors come to celebrate Founders Day! We ate lunch and then we had a short reading about the Founders (Chapter council members read the parts of the Founders). This year we started the tradition of giving an award for each founder and the girl who receives it is someone who embodies their attributes. We also honor all of our members who got a 4.0 GPA or higher in the previous semester. We kicked off the sesquicentennial, 150th anniversary at Founders Day this year. There will be more celebrations to come next year from the new Executive Board, as our chapter pilots the new officer structure for the Fraternity.

'''Philanthropy:'''
Spring 2020 was an exciting and unpredictable one. Members were able to enjoy our spring formal on February 14th and participated in exchanges before the chapter and university closed due to the pandemic. Following the closure of the University and Delta Iota, communication became even more important than before with meetings and classes being conducted virtually. The summer also proved challenging as it was unclear what the formal recruitment process would look like until the University’s Panhellenic office decided to make the shift to a totally virtual recruitment. Although many things were done differently, the spirit of Kappa remained the same this fall. Some of the major activities held included virtual recruitment, bid day, virtual initiation and ritual ceremonies, “pod” events, and the excitement of a brand new house! Despite the roadblocks put in our path, Delta Iota has worked hard to excel in academics, sisterhood, communication, and Panhellenic involvement, which we hope to continue and to put to use once we are able to return to normal. Our “pod” events were used as a replacement to larger sisterhood events due to in person limits of 10 people. These “pods” were available to all and allowed members from different member classes to interact in ways they may not have been able to before, such as, going bowling, getting manicures, carving pumpkins or just grabbing dinner and a movie! Women from all four member classes stepped up as pod leaders and organized an event each week with a given budget. These events allowed for deeper connections between different ages to be made due to the more intimate group sizes and all those who participated enjoyed attending these events! Hosting virtual events proved to be a challenge at first but was managed with grace. Chapter President, Grace Gardere ’17 and Primary Recruitment Director, Alyssa Bellelo ‘17, had the opportunity to put on Delta Iota’s first virtual recruitment and get our chapter’s largest new member class of 106 impressive new Kappa women! Our Ritual and History Director, Reese Kelso ’18 and Founders Day Coordinator, Anna Harris ‘18, worked together to host a ‘Which Kappa Founding Member Are You? Founders Day raffle and celebrate Kappa’s 150 year anniversary. The two also planned and coordinated Delta Iota’s first ever virtual initiation, successfully initiating 104 New Members in a new way, while maintaining the beauty and integrity of an in person ritual ceremony. The chapter was incredibly eager to see the new house and those that currently live in the house were anticipating move-in day all summer! The house not only meets, but exceeds the Chapter’s needs; it is spacious, elegant, functional, and Delta Iota is so grateful that we get to call it our home. Although we were not able to have large groups come to the house this year for sisterhood events or chapter meetings, we look forward to hosting these at the house in the future. Academically, the chapter continues to improve. The current chapter GPA is 3.718, which is higher than the All-Sorority and LSU All-Women GPA averages. Our members received a variety of internships and scholarships over a wide range of disciplines as well. COVID may have changed the way the chapter operates, but Delta Iota took this chaos and improved in spite of a hectic year.

Delta Iota chose to support the St. Jude’s Dream Day Foundation because the co-founder Ms. Marty, was an LSU Kappa and the Chapter enjoys supporting her Foundation. We help put on an event at her farm in Clinton, Louisiana each year for St. Jude's patients and their families called “Dream Day”.

Delta Iota added a DEI officer, Karen Assenga, to inform and promote the chapter’s members on this topic. Karen has done an exceptional job covering topics such as: cultural appropriation, bias, and prejudice. She is knowledgeable and approachable and has improved Delta Iota’s knowledge about DEI. We look forward to seeing how this position continues to teach the chapter and help us grow more by upholding values of inclusion, celebrating diversity and ensuring equity.
This year we held an informative session with facts about our Founders and held a Founding Member themed raffle. We also celebrated by looking at pictures from alumnae of Delta Iota. Founders Day was the largest celebration of our Sesquicentennial.

==Highlights of 2021==
'''The first event of the spring semester for Delta Iota was Leadership Day (Jan. 24) where the 2021 Chapter Convention Awards'''Council discussed how to successfully navigate the new Pilot Structure that was implemented last year and improve our group function. Caroline Mitchell (VPO, 2020) was the keynote speaker. Throughout the spring semester we were able to hold our first in person social events since the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic which was very exciting for new and active members alike! We had date events by grade at several Baton Rouge locations, ending with a Senior Grub at Red Stick Social. Over the summer our President-Reese Kelso, Vice President of Membership-Meghan Zito and Director of Recruitment-Regan Odenwald worked very hard to plan and prepare for our first in-person recruitment since the fall of 2019. We were able to have in-person recruitment beginning on August 20th! The recruitment process was delayed several times by the impact of Hurricane Ida, but recruitment ended in early September with Bid Day on September 12th. Formal New Member Pledging took place Thursday, September 16th and that evening we had our first exchange with Kappa Sigma at Uncle Earl’s. Saturday, September 25th was the House Dedication Gala where actives and alumna gathered to formally dedicate the new Delta Iota Kappa Kappa Gamma house at 4050 W. Lakeshore Dr. Our annual Founders Day Banquet was held for active and alumna members at the LSU Student Union Royal Cotillion Ballroom on Sunday, October 10th, and the chapter had a Founders Day Movie Night Sisterhood event on the 13th to celebrate. Friday, October 15th was the Kappa Parents’ Cocktail, which was held by our Director of Public Relations Callie Braud at the Knock Knock Children’s Museum. The following Sunday was Delta Iota’s Annual Golf Tournament, Kappa Klassic, at Santa Rosa Golf Course in Baton Rouge. Overall, at the golf tournament, we raised a total of $45,599.54 for Mental Health America, $11,399.86 for the KKG Foundation, and $11,399.86 for St. Jude’s Dream Day Foundation thanks to the hard work of our donors, members and our incredible Philanthropy Director, Gillian Cole. Inspiration Week began on November 7th beginning with the Blue and Blue Ceremony where our new members returned their pins. That week we had several sisterhood activities such as pop-up shops at the house on Tuesday, a coffee bar study session Wednesday and a Christmas movie/trivia night and pajama night on Thursday. On Saturday, November 13th all 92 of our new members were initiated by Marshal Anna Harris and President Reese Kelso. Two weeks later on Monday, November 22 the chapter voted for the new Slate at our last chapter meeting of the year before finals.

Delta Iota supports the St. Jude’s Dream Day Foundation who sponsors an annual Fishin’ Galore Day right here in south Louisiana. This organization was founded by a Delta Iota Kappa and we are happy to continue to support and attend the event each Spring!
Delta Iota donated a third of its fundraisings from the Kappa Klassic Golf Tournament to the KKG Foundation and another third to Mental Health America. We look forward to exploring the opportunities our new Fraternity Philanthropy brings to us in the upcoming spring semester.
In the Spring of 2021, we held a chapter wide DEI Programming event that was very informative on properly including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in our chapter events, as well as our in individual lifestyles. This fall we changed our DEI chair into a slated Director position and Peyton Harvey was elected as our first ever DEI Director in December of 2021.

Your efforts will ensure This year, LSU held a complete hybrid Recruitment in order to comply with our state COVID-19 mandates. The first round of Recruitment was a virtual video experience for the potential new members and the following three rounds were smaller in-person parties. All LSU students were required to get a COVID vaccine in September, or test bi-weekly and accurate history receive a negative test, in order to attend LSU. We wore masks at all events until the state mask mandate was lifted in early November of your chapter for future generations 2021. This has definitely been a challenging year, but thankfully we have been able to safely hold in person events and are able to get to enjoy!know our wonderful new members.[[File:DI 2021.jpg|thumb|In front of our house]]
