==The Early Years (From University of Miami, founded in 1925, began to build south of Coral Gables in 1926. The History incomplete structure was severely damaged by a hurricane that September, and another building was found closer to Coral Gables. It was only partly finished, had no partitions and classrooms were made with huge sheets of Kappa Kappa Gamma 1870–1976)==wallboard. The name “Cardboard College” stuck for years.In 1947, the site was changed and the university, tremendously grown, is now situated on a large, beautifully landscaped campus.

The story of Gamma Zeta's growth is also Seven girls on the story of Miami campus were selected in 1927 by Kappa alumnae to be the growth nucleus of the University of Arizona from the small 1a local group,088 student Land Grant school of the 1920s to the fine university of over 27Lambda Phi,000 students which it is today. In 1938 Lambda Phi’s petition was accepted and Delta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was formally installed that year on November 17, 18, and 19. Nineteen charter members were initiated. Actives from Rollins and Alabama aided in the 1938 installation. Lambda Phi alumnae had the privilege of becoming Kappas at regular initiation services for the next five years.

An interesting feature of the installation banquet was the showing of movies of the newly built Kappa Hearthstone at Winter Park, the 33rd Convention at Hot Springs, and the film that Lambda Phi sent with its petition.

Several Tucson women not then attending college organized Alpha SigmaClara O. Pierce, a local sororityOhio State, in conducted the fall of 1916 for the purpose of "obtaining a chapter of Kappa Kappa Gammamodel meeting November 20, also to derive social and scholastic benefits1938. Chapter officers were installed, talks were given on standards and to promote college spirit as an organized society." The following year only one member, Norma Brazee (Sexton)responsibilities, returned to the university. Two other local groups existing then were receiving charters from Kappa Alpha Theta and Pi Beta Phi so it was important to reorganize Alpha Sigma quickly. Eight freshmen were pledged who became the core members contents of the reorganized Alpha Sigmaarchives chest were displayed.

In 1918-1919 Alpha Sigma partitioned KappaDr. Bowman F. Ashe, president of the university, and on January 3was host at a tea March 1, 19201939, Grand President Lydia Voris Kolbeat his home for distinguished writer Dorothy Canfield Fisher, AkronOhio State, attended by actives and members alumnae. Mrs. Ashe was one of Gamma Beta (New Mexico) installed Gamma Zeta Chapter and its 24 charter the original members. Norma Brazee. whose "History of Alpha Sigma" is part the Kappa Mothers’ Club of Gamma Zeta's Miami. She had a daughter who was not able to be initiated, the first initiate of Delta Kappa.

The chapter's first decade Mothers’ Club was one formed in the fall of varied activities distinct social pattern1940 and has always been a great help to the chapter. TeasThe club has contributed a silver tea and coffee service, dinner dancesthe scholarship punch bowl, house dances (girls only)dishes and stainless flatware, and powdered wig banquets were the order. Decorous behavior was the rule: no smoking in public, no smoking together of actives and pledges, and no smoking by men in the Gamma Zeta house. Pledges could not date before

4:30 p.m. nor during weekday nights. Juniors and seniors were allowed week night dates between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. after which the house was locked for the night.

Intersorority tournaments were big campus events. Gamma Zeta won many basketball and hockey games. Individuals excelled in horseshows and other sports, dramatic presentations, and work on the Desert yearbook and Wildcat newspaper. YWCA also made up a busy program for the Arizona Kappas.'''Housing'''

Special note is made The chapter rented its first house in early September, 1939. In 1942 sorority houses were no longer sanctioned by the university and the chapter records of three non-related events: returned to a 1921 pledge-sponsored Christmas formal (which continued room. By the chapter’s 20th anniversary Delta Kappa was housed in 1975 as a pledge sponsored Christmas activity); the sudden death in 1922 Panhellenic Building with all the other sororities. The chapter moved into good report after winning the new house on February 10scholarship cup, 1935. The "Kappa Kottagethe athletic trophy," a house on an adjacent lot, was remodeled and first used in 1956-1957. In 1963-64 a complex of adjacent to the Kottage was used trophy for the first time after having been purchased by the Gamma Zeta Building Associationbest decorated house during homecoming. During 1966-67 the house was completed with the addition of the Dorothy Musser room, a large recreation room which connects the apartments Chapter members were in varied activities and garnered trophies and honors through the west wing (formerly the Kottage)years.

The second decade started off slowly sociallyDuring 1940, but well scholastically. All national sororities at Arizona were denied social privileges during the first semester for rush irregularities“Powder Puff Bowl, ” a football game between the Kappas and Gamma Zeta lost its social privileges in Chi Omegas, became a tradition; the spring because chapter won two of failure to keep three awards at Mu Province Meeting; and a sign-out book. Eventually parties resumed which included mother-daughter banquets, scavenger hunts, brotherand sweetheart dinners, "intellectual hours" and serenade, slumber and roller skating parties. Social life member was maintained "voted outstanding senior in spite of the Depressionprovince."

Kappas were busy with campus activities: drama, athletics, Associated Women Students. The excellent grades of the early 1930s began to drop by the mid-1930s. The initiation average was lowered, and scholarship seemed to hit a new low in 1940 when the requirement for initiation was lowered again, yet ten out of 28 pledges still did make their grades.

Girls gave dances for officers at Davis Monthan Air Base and for the Cavalry Post. Victory Fund dances and War Bond contests were waged between sororities and fraternities. Girls saved their razor blades, magazines, and old clothes, and turned their ration books in to the house director. However, the house director was given an alligator purse and a sterling silver compact for Christmas. Traditions'''

With men so scarceThe chapter had many beauty queens: one chapter president was chosen to represent the U.S.A. at the Lima, Peru, Fair; Mary Davison (Mills) was 1951 Orange Bowl Queen; Jo Ann Pflug (Woolery), the girls concentrated on rodeosactress who received the Kappa Alumnae Achievement Award in 1972, swimming was a Miami queen in 1960 and volleyball. In November, 1941, the first president of College Board; nine members were shocked to learn that selected as “best dressed” at the 1961 Greek Week; and there were 12 Kappas in the 1969 Homecoming queen contest. Delta Kappa also had a member national title winner in 1970, Deborah Shelton (Castro), “Miss U.S.A.”Kappa teams won athletic trophies and had been thrown while riding national sports figures too. Doris Hart was the third-ranking national women’s tennis player in 1947-48 and diedwas an Alumnae Achievement Award winner in 1958. In Judy Eller (Street) played on the spring of 1945 another death occurredCurtis Cup Golf Team in Nottinghamshire, that of President Franklin D. RooseveltEngland, and the spring formal was cancelled in respect of mourning traditions1959-60.

The late 1940s found Gamma Zetas excelling in journalism and by 1949 they were dominating many activities. They built shiny whales, pink elephants, "Arks of Triumph," and storks "expecting expansion." The Many scholastic honors have come to the chapter won top honors and took Sweepstakes prizes with these constructionsits members. There In 1951 Kappas were pledge classes of 40. Individual and team honors were won in golf, swimming, tennisgraduated magna cum laude, riflesumma cum laude, and fencingcum laude. Gamma Zetas In 1964–65 five Kappas were officers of Associated Women Students, Student Government, named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and drama organizations. Repeatedly they took scholarship trophies among living groups (dormitoriesUniversities, sororities, fraternities). There were several queens and setting a Miss Alaska. Near the decade's end the chapter was delighted to pledge daughters of two film stars, the cowboy idol Johnny Mack Brown and the versatile Anthony Quinnrecord at Miami.

The 50th anniversary of Delta Kappa’s founding was observed in 1988. The chapter and local alumnae association celebrated with a cocktail party, Founders Day activities which included perusing old chapter scrapbooks and composites. Many DK alumnae attended the activities.

The Kappa Convention held nearby in Boca Raton in 1988. It was an exciting week for the many chapter women and local alumnae groups that helped host the Convention.

Chapter activities included such things as Greek Week and mixers with various fraternities. The members participated in various campus philanthropies, also.

==Highlights of the 1970s== Women's liberation was The chapter worked on improving scholarship by having study halls twice a large factor in influencing the activities in this time period, especially reflected through social week and clothing trendsproviding tutors for those having difficulty with particular classes. The Vietnam war divided the chapter in differing opinions about the war. Also important They achieved this goal by moving from 5th place to 2nd place of the members at the time was conservation. An increased awareness about reusing and recycling took effectPanhellenic groups.

The inaugural year for U of A's Spring Fling was 1975, a carnival themed event that involved all organizations on campus.

Delta Kappa had another great year in 1990. The chapter experienced success with a pledge class of 33 new members and winning its eighth Greek Week trophy.

Campus image continued to improve through member participation in all aspects of campus life which included Panhellenic, Mortar Board, Rho Lambda and Student Government to mention a few. The chapter also received the highest overall scholarship award for actives and pledges.

Activities this year included a pledge retreat and a well attended Fun Day which benefited children with disabilities in the area. During Greek Week the chapter won the philanthropy award and raised the most money for Cerebral Palsy. Another Kappa Krush was a hit and the annual Christmas Party was well attended.

Thirty-eight pledges started 1991 off right. Next came Greek Week where the chapter donated the most blood, took first place in the Greek Sing, midday events, lip sync, spirit and finished in second place overall.

==Highlights In March a large Delta Kappa delegation attended Mu Province Meeting at Clemson. The chapter won two awards. April included several great mixers and an awesome Sapphire Ball. At the 1991 Greek Leadership Awards the chapter won eight out of the 1980s:==nine awards.

In 1985Fall Rush 1991 was a great success with a pledge class of 53, Gamma Zeta strived to reach their who won Pledges on Parade. The chapter goal enjoyed a visit from Province Director of "Image of Excellence" by making themselves more visible Chapters Shelley Melvin, West Virginia. Homecoming was held in November and the communitychapter won first place in Organized Cheer and second place overall. Chapter members traveled to the University of Florida and Florida State University to enjoy some football. The three main points emphasized month ended with this a mixer. December brought the annual Christmas party, which was put on by the pledges for the chapter goal were to excel in scholarship, increase awareness of fraternity standards, and exhibit respect alumnae. December ended with the Alpha Sigma Phi Beach day and Bar-B-Q that helped all relax and consideration to one anotherget ready for finals.

Some of the challenges they faced involved delinquent payments The chapter has 110 members, who increased sisterhood and alcohol infractionsrespect for each other through more fun activities getting to know each other better. The bylaws were amended to reflect current standards, women also had more beach days and stricter enforcement of the rules were put in placehad dinner together on Fridays.

Lauren Kay McLaughlin the school year was killed in an automobile crashdelayed as a result. The pledges of 1985 won the scholarship award for the highest pledge class GPA among the sororities Kappa continued to be strong on U of A's campus. The women of Gamma Zeta continued to participate Members were involved in many campus clubs and organizationsIron Arrow, Student Government, Homecoming Executive Committee, Greek Week Committee, academic and many members were named to honorary leadership honor societies. Gamma Zeta consistently had strong , Presidents 100, Cheerleading, Resident Assistants, Orientation Assistants, peer counseling programs and successful rush eventsintramural sports, and one of the favorite party themes continued to be "Willy Wonka and the Kappa Factorymention a few."

During the summer the chapter suite was redecorated. There were also many changes on the campus. New trees were planted to replace those destroyed during Hurricane Andrew. New sidewalks were constructed with brick. The many social events included theme parties, holiday gatherings, homecoming float decorating, football game gatherings, Parents Weekend, recreation center was demolished and formalsa new state of the art student Wellness Center was built.

The Gamma Zeta chapter hosted Province Meeting in 1989Delta Kappa started 1994 with a 26 new members.In 1989 A Delta Kappa was Homecoming Executive Committee Chairperson and was tapped into the Iron Arrow Society, the oldest living tradition and highest honor attainable at the University of Arizona's student body Miami. This is the first Delta Kappa to be inducted into the society, since Elizabeth Rodriguez was 35,000tapped in 1987. The women participated in Greek Week taking first place overall. Gamma They also took first place in the Zeta had 203 active members Beta Tau volleyball tournament and the Lambda Chi Alpha volleyball tournament. Actives met at the same yearrenovated Kappa suite on Thursday nights to watch Friends and Seinfeld.

Fall 1995 started with another successful rush resulting in 37 new members. These pledges participated and won first place in Pledges on Parade. The members of Gamma Zeta maintained positive morale by introducing programs like Sisterhood Cozies, Kappa chapter won second place overall in Homecoming. During Homecoming the women joined to help with Hurricanes Help the Hometown effort on campus which helped victims of the Week, Hoots & Salutes, Sweetest Kappa, Outstanding Pledge, and Outstanding SeniorHurricane Andrew.

During this year the chapter decided to have unity with an emphasis on sisterhood as its goal. The focus was to become closer in order to better the chapter, as well as its members. This goal was met through various activities such as going ice skating, trips to the beach, to a club on campus to watch Beverly Hills 90210 on Wednesday and on Fridays for the club’s promotional night. This has strengthened the chapter and brought the members closer together.

'''Philanthropy:'''The chapter continued to work on academic excellence. This year Panhellenic study hours were installed to help all pledges and members maintain a good GPA. Those with a GPA below 2.3 were required to attend study hours to improve grades.

Philanthropy continued to be an important focus Delta Kappa started 1995 with a new member class of Gamma Zeta26 amazing women. Some of Shortly after Rush the chapter held Kappa Krush at the Chilli Pepper in South Beach and the organizations that benefited from annual Sapphire Ball at the beautiful Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables which brought a memorable time and fun for everyone. The chapter's support were the Tucson Boys Clubparticipated in Greek Week and placed second in cheer, Cancer Centerthird in Greek Sing, local women's shelters, the Rose McGill Fund, American Red Crossfirst in blood drive, third in Olympic Day and third overall. The end of spring semester brought graduation and a tearful goodbye to members who have meant a lot to the Tucson Tablechapter.

Fall brought the chapter 23 wonderful new members. Then came Homecoming, where the chapter was paired with Alpha Sigma Phi and earned a third place trophy overall. Delta Kappa members were active in almost every aspect of college life. They were a visible chapter; they participated in Greek Week, Homecoming, Pledges on Parade and the various sorority and fraternity activities. From Student Government and clubs to intramural sports, varsity sports, master tutor program, peer counseling programs and leadership in honor societies; members were very active on campus.

The new officers tried hard to keep the chapter together and united by trying to improve attendance and participation at meetings and fraternity events. The chapter had Wednesday nights on the town and gathered at the Rathskellar, an on campus restaurant and pub. Senior Night, Heart Sister Day and Big/Little Sister Day were some other activities held to promote sisterhood.

At Delta Kappa’s year (1996) began with spring semester. It was full of great socials with various fraternities on campus. These included a mixer with Pi Kappa Alpha, one with Kappa Sigma and Sigma Alpha Mu during Greek Week. There were also a number of philanthropic activities in which the chapter participated. Some included Fun Day which was a day dedicated to the 1983 Province Meeting in Santa Barbara, Gamma Zeta enjoyment of children and adults with disabilities and Sigma Chi’s Derby Days which benefited their philanthropy. The chapter received an award for individual and chapter excellence as well as an award for the highest grade point average in awards at the Kappa ProvinceAssociation of Greek Letter Organizations awards banquet.At A major event of the 1985 Province Meeting held in San Diego, Gamma Zeta won spring was the House Board AwardSapphire Ball, alumna Thelma Dahlen, Minnesota, won held at the Betsy Prior Loyalty AwardIntercontinental on Biscayne Bay. Elegant and beautiful, it showed Kappa’s charm and the class. Fall was busy as usual for DK. The chapter won the Chapter Excellence Awardhad a tailgate with Zeta Beta Tau before Rush.

Gamma Zeta earned By the Norma Dow Patton Gracious Living Award time recruitment was completed the chapter doubled in size with 46 new members. The semester marked the beginning of the new member Program. Chapter members were a little nervous at first, but successfully used this program to initiate the new members. The new members place second in Pledges on Parade, dressing up as food and making everyone smile! The social calendar was full. The first mixer of the 1989 Province Meetingsemester was with Sigma Alpha Phi with an Olympic theme. Tailgates followed with Sigma Chi and Alpha Epsilon Pi. Founders Day united the chapter with alumnae at the beautiful Biltmore Hotel for brunch. The chapter received second place in the Panhellenic Salvation Army tree philanthropy and wrapped presents at Barnes and Noble to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. The season ended with a Christmas party, Senior Night and date party at Pen Rod’s on South Beach.

Fall semester was successful academically with the chapter earning the highest grade point average in the Greek system. Many members pledged honor societies and fraternities as well as participating in the President’s 100, student government, philanthropic committees and campus wide program committees. Delta Kappas were involved all over campus and frequently held leadership roles!

The 61st Kappa convention was held this year in Tampa, Florida, in June 1996. Several Delta Kappas attended the Convention and were very proud to accept the Panhellenic Award and the Finance Award for the chapter.

Spring 1997, was full of excitement with many socials and philanthropic events. The chapter participated in a Healthy Eating Seminar where they learned about many eating disorders. Some of the activities included Kappa Krush, mixers with Alpha Sigma Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Kappa Sigma and Phi Delta Theta. The chapter won Greek Week this year and won awards at the Association of Greek Life Organizations for both the chapter and individuals. Sapphire Ball was held at the Rusty Pelican restaurant on beautiful Biscayne Bay.

The New member class was excited to win the 1990s==honor of Best Song and Most Creative Banner. This semester also included mixers with various fraternities and participation in other Greek events. The Founders Day brunch was held at the lovely Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables where chapter members spent time reminiscing with alumnae. The chapter placed first in Homecoming this year with Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The chapter went camping for their chapter retreat. The season ended with a semi-formal date function and a holiday party.

The women highest grade point average of all Greek organizations with members pledging honor societies and fraternities as well as participating in the chapter were involved in scholarship honorary clubs, campus-wide effortsPresident’s 100, student government, special interest clubs, philanthropic committees and Greek hosted eventscampus wide program committees.Delta Kappas were involved all over campus and frequently held leadership roles!

Ritual, standards, and sisterhood were core values The year 1998 started with informal spring rush which included three nights of events that gave the Gamma Zetas focused on through their activities chapter members an opportunity to mingle and programmingmeet new women. Big Sis/Little Sis programming was successful, along with non-alcoholic exchanges, Parents Weekend events, alumnae events, This effort resulted in seven new members. The chapter participate in many mixers and scholarship philanthropic events. DK started an annual event Kappasta Dinner. The Gamma Zetas shared chapter news through its newsletter, Keyholes. Reports from officers were included, highlights from campus activities, adviser spotlight section, women served members of the college and local community a dedication to graduating seniors spaghetti dinner from which all contributed the proceeds went to a rich publication full of informationlocal philanthropy, the Love Jen Fund at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

In 1990 One of the sisters concluding events of Gamma Zeta initiated the Irimajiri Art Scholarship Fund in memory semester was the Association of one of their membersGreek Letter Organizations Award Banquet. Kappa had an exciting evening with the highest chapter grade point average, highest pledge class GPA, highest sorority woman overall GPA, Maki IrimajiriRho Lambda spirit award, a student who died in an automobile crash. Director Marilyn Gerstein Coller senior woman of Chaptersthe year, Jennie HeldermanMary B. Merritt outstanding Panhellenic award, Alabama, visited most outstanding junior woman of the year and the William Butler Scholarship for volunteering. The GPA for the semester was 3.178 exceeding the Fraternity’s Region Two Strive for Pi and attaining the highest sorority average on campus. The final event for the semester was Sapphire Ball at the chapter in 1991Wyndham Resort Biscayne Bay.

The Fall started of wonderfully with rush resulting in 28 amazing new members focused on scholarship who proved to be outstanding sisters and assets to the chapter. There were numerous tailgates and mixers with quiet study hours after 7 p.m., study buddies, scholarship awards, fraternities which helped increase chapter morale and study fileshelped the chapter get to know the new members better. The chapter goal showed its spirit and pride and won first place in 1991 "Shoot Homecoming working with Kappa Sigma. Founders Day was celebrated with local alumnae with a lovely lunch at the Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables. Another Kappasta Dinner was held raising more money for Pi the Love Jen Fund. In Delta Kappa begn1999 with a bright young chapter council full of ideas. Kappa trainers helped prepare the women for spring Recruitment which was the first main event of the year. The amazing trainers gave the chapter many useful pointers that they were able to use during future Recruitments as well. Spring of 1991Recruitment added seven wonderful young women to the chapter. The chapter went on to have the annual Kappa Krush at Penrod’s on South Beach and participate in Greek Week, eleven Gamma Zetas earned a 4winning second place over-all.0 GPAThe women went on to have mixers with several fraternities such as Lambda Chi Alpha and Kappa Sigma.

In 1995 there While they were 16 having fun with the fraternities, Delta Kappa was winning awards also. Chapter representatives attended Province Meeting hosted by Emory, where the chapter won the Risk Management Award and the Jan Stamper Communications Award. A traveling consultant visited the chapter later that semester, meeting with each officer, answering questions and providing helpful hints. At the Association of Greek Letter Organizations Banquet the chapter won awards for Chapter Involvement for having the most members involved in campus activities of all the sororities . As the semester came to a close the annual Sapphire Ball was held at the Wyndham Hotel on Miami Beach in the campus Starlight Room as well as Senior Week which is a time to honor the graduating senior class. At the end of University of Arizonathe semester we were given the opportunity to extend three more bids to amazing women. Aproximately 15% of This resulted in the U addition of A students are two new members of who were initiated in the Greek systemfall just prior to fall Recruitment.

Fall recruitment theme parties included Kappa Kountry and Kappa Goes to Hollywood. In the fall of 1998, 55 women the chapter prepared for formal Recruitment by having a Sisterhood Retreat in Hialeah where they were initiatedable to practice some useful techniques to bond with one another. During the semester the chapter had ever initiated participated in Alcohol 101 and several philanthropies, mixers and tailgates with fraternities such as Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Phi Epsilon. The Founders Day Brunch was held at one timethe Riviera Country Club the morning after Initiation, which was pushed back due to Hurricane Irene. This Kappa Krush was held again this semester at the first year that Wilderness Grille. The Kappasta Dinner to raise money for a local philanthropy, the Love Jen Fund was held also. The chapter transitioned into was teamed with Pi Kappa Alpha for Homecoming placing second overall. The semester ended with a Sisterhood Retreat at a nearby campground, a holiday party to exchange gifts and to say goodbye for the New Member programsemester break.

A Chapter meetings were made interesting by adding a Romance Award, Hoots of GAMA (Greek Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol) was colonized in the spring of the year to help the Greek community openly discuss and Salutesresolve Risk Management issues with one another. In the fall, A's for Panhellenic expanded with the Week, Scholarship Bucks, addition of Delta Delta Delta Fraternity and the Friendship Award each weekInterfraternity Council expanded with the addition of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

In 1998 Gamma Zeta was voted Most Outstanding Panhellenic Chapter on U of A's campus. Also exciting for the chapter was receiving first place in Social Programming, second place in Scholarship Programming, Most Outstanding Adviser, a Kaplan Scholarship, and both the Freshman and Sophomore Greek Woman of the year.

In 1991 Spring semester began with continuous open bidding where the chapter pledged four amazing new members. Following a five- week new house director started at Gamma Zeta; Shirley Roymember period, initiation was held on April 8th.In 1997 During the 2006 calendar year the house installed three new computers women participated in its library to aid with studyingvarious fraternity philanthropy events. First was the Sigma Chi’s Derby Days where one sister won the title of Miss Derby Days. This computer lab Then there was Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s first annual Paddy Murphy Week where the chapter won first time Gamma Zeta had Internet access place overall as well as winning the Miss Minerva competition. Also, there was Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Week of the Heart which the chapter placed second overall. Lastly, there was Greek Week 2006 where the chapter placed second in the houseBlood drive. As for social events, there was an amazing Crush Party with Sigma Chi at John Martins and the chapter finished off spring semester with a fabulous formal at Hibiscus Island near Miami Beach.

In 1998 much of Fall semester began with Recruitment and the house was remodeledchapter welcomed 35 new members. A five week new member period followed and ended with initiation on October 29th. Tile replaced carpeted areas Also in the TV roomfall, bulletin boards were placed some sisters participated enthusiastically in the front hall making it easier to get announcements to all National Gandhi Day of Service as well as Homecoming activities. The chapter also participated and placed second in Lambda Chi Alpha’s philanthropy event Watermelon Bust. There were a few social events, a Grab-a-Date function at Laser World where the women and their dates enjoy a few games of laser tag. The chapter also held a celebrities party with Sigma Phi Epsilon at Señor Frog’s in Coconut Grove. The fall semester ended with a fun-filled semi-formal at Uva Restaurant in the house, and some rooms were repainted and recarpetedCoral Gables.

The implementation of the new Reading is Fundamental program was still a challenge. To meet this challenge, the philanthropy committee coordinated a book drive and got other sororities involved. These books along with pencil boxes and other school supplies were donated to underprivileged children. The philanthropy committee also planned a book fair in cooperation with Scholastic Books to be held on campus in the spring.

The Delta Kappa chapter had approximately 105 active women. The chapter was very strong academically having the highest average GPA of the Panhellenic community. Chapter women are extremely involved in other organizations on campus where they held various important positions.Spring 2007 the chapter pledged five amazing new members. Following a five week new member period the women were initiated on February 24th. During the rest of the spring semester the chapter participated in numerous fraternity philanthropy events, such as Sigma Chi's Derby days, where a member won the title of Miss Derby Days the second year in a row. The chapter also participated and were the reigning champs for Sigma Alpha Epsilon''Philanthropy:'''s Paddy Murphy Week, with a chapter member winning the title of Miss Minerva and the chapter won the competition overall. Additionally the chapter participated in Greek Week 2007 where a few of the members were Co-chairmen of this event. Furthermore, the chapter held a campus wide Scholastic book fair which raised more than $3,500 which was donated to local reading programs. Spring semester closed with a fabulous Art Deco themed formal.

Fall semester began with Recruitment resulting in 28 new members for the chapter. The Gamma Zetas continued to excel women completed a five week new member program and were initiated on October13th. As a chapter the women participated in Homecoming with members being co-chairs of the area of philanthropyevent. They The chapter also participated in Sigma Alpha Mu’s Sam Slam where the American Red Cross blood drive, Cedric Depmsey Cancer Runchapter placed 2nd overall, and became the Champions of Beta Theta Pi’s first annual Beta Blast fight against measles. Besides Kappa’s friendly philanthropy competitions the American Cancer Society's Climb "A" Mountain to Conquer Cancer Benefit Walk, Tucson Area Literacy Coalition aerobics-chapter had a-thon, receycling few social events, ALS foundation fundraiser, senior home volunteer hours, Casa de los Ninos with fraternities including a holiday partywith Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Rock and Roll with Phi Delta Theta, and Ronald McDonald House meal preparationa Used to be Cool with Alpha Sigma Phi. The chapter ended the year with an incredible masquerade themed semi-formal at Town in downtown Miami. The chapter really wanted to boost its philanthropy focusing on benefiting not only RIF but the local community. The philanthropy chairman and committee set up a Scholastic Books bookfair on campus to help purchase books to be donated to Kenlock Middle Schools creative writing program. The women also went every Friday to Canterbury Preschool to read books to the kids and encouraged them to read. Twice a week throughout the semester chapter women would go to South Miami Community Center where they tutored kids who were struggling in school.

Delta Kappa chapter had 97 active women on its roster in 2007. The women were very strong leaders and involved in numerous other organizations where members held various officer positions. The chapter women also were very passionate academically with the chapter having an average GPA greater than the all-woman’s average on our campus.

In 2008 there was lots of excitement in the Delta Kappa chapter. In January, the chapter started the New Year with a bowling mixer with Kappa Sigma and another mixer with Beta Theta Pi, winning the first annual Beta Blast competition. The women also had a strong showing in Sigma Chi’s Derby Days. In February, the chapter enjoyed going to a Crush Party, as well as competing in Greek Week. Always enthusiastic about philanthropy, Kappa’s Scholastic Book Fair collected $4,200, of which $3,500 was donated to Blue Lake Elementary. The chapter pledged three great new members during C.O.B. events and initiated them in March. In April, the women danced the night away at Formal and came in second place in Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Paddy Murphy Week.

In the fall, the chapter had the opportunity to attend an alumnae and actives brunch in Miami. The women mingled with fellow Delta Kappa alumnae as well as other Kappas who now call Miami home. In September, the chapter had a very successful Recruitment which resulted in ten wonderful new members. October marked a fantastic Founders Day and which was celebrated during a brunch with Alumnae. The chapter’s newest members performed a skit as our Founders, and everyone enjoyed a keynote presentation by a Delta Kappa alumna.

==Highlights The month ended as the chapter participated in Hurricanes Help the Hometown, a service event during Homecoming Week. November included initiation, as well as a fun Peter Pan themed mixer with Alpha Sigma Phi. Delta Kappa’s first annual Hot Wing Eating contest brought out lots of 2000fraternity brothers who eagerly competed and won prizes which gave Kappa great exposure on campus. The chapter also came together around Thanksgiving and enjoyed a holiday meal provided by the Standards Committee. The semester ended with a fun-2010==filled evening at a semi-formal in December. The upcoming year promised to be just as eventful and enjoyable as 2008.

The Formal Recruitment started the 2009 spring semester off for the chapter. During this time the chapter was visited by a Leadership Consultant, Angie McNeight, Emory. Recruitment finished with Continuous Open Bidding events which resulted in the chapter pledging 20 amazing new members continued to focus on sisterhood. The Gamma Zeta chapter received recognition and a variety of awards from the University of Arizonawas very busy in March. Members were involved In addition to Inspiration Week, they placed third in intramural sportsDelta Gamma’s Anchor Bowl, all-won the Sorority Spirit Award during Greek competitionsWeek and first place in Beta Theta Pi’s Beta Blast. In addition, student governmentthe chapter held its annual book fair, homecoming festivitiesReading is Key event, clubschapter elections and had a joint leadership day with PDC Chrissy Haddad, and honorary societiesEmory.The semester continued with a luau themed mixer with Phi Delta Theta at Finnegan’s on the River. The annual Senior Week was a bittersweet goodbye to the graduating seniors. The seniors also participated in a Senior Tea where they were inducted into the alumnae association. Spring semester ended with Sapphire Ball at the Westin Colonade in Coral Gables.

Gamma Zetas often shared their archives Fall started off with a visit from the Leadership Consultant. The chapter participated in Continuous Open Bidding which resulted in six wonderful new members. In September the chapter held a sand volleyball tournament and donated all the proceeds to Camillus House which is a non-profit organization helping homeless people. A chapter member attended the Kappa Foundation’s annual Leadership Academy. The chapter celebrated its 71st birthday at the annual Founders Day brunchluncheon with the alumnae association. Inspiration Week initiated the six new members. The chapter hosted mixers with Alpha Sigma Phi and and Phi Delta Theta. Homecoming was held in November with the chapter placing second. Old scrapbooks were The members participated in the Fraternity’s Holiday Sharing Program with the favorite item on display, local alumnae association and some years finished the Gamma Zetas put together a slide show to show semester with the brunch attendeessemi-formal at Uva Lounge in Coral Gables.

In 2006 there The 2010 year began with formal Recruitment. The chapter welcomed 30 new members in January. Bid Day was celebrated with a trip to an ice skating rink. Soon enough, classes began and the women were 11 housed sororities on involved in the U first philanthropy event of A campus the year, Sigma Chi's Derby Days and enjoyed playing dodge ball, volleyball, and more than 20 fraternitiessupporting Kappa in the Miss Derby Days pageant.The 2007 newsletter of Gamma Zeta chapter also participated in Sigma Alpha Mu's Sam Slam. By February, it was titled "Keys and Fleur-de-Listime for Kappa’s own big philanthropy event. The chapter held its annual Scholastic Book Fair on campus which helped raise money for children's books. Every member helped out which made it a very successful book fair."

In 2007 the pledge class of Gamma Zeta The Super Bowl was composed held in Miami in 2010. The members had fun taking advantage of 70 new membersall the free concerts and events the city offered. Members of Gamma Zeta attended During the Kappa Kappa Gamma Leadership Conference in San Diego in 2009spring five mixers were planned. Scholarship was The chapter had an area of focus during this time frame"I'm so glad I'm not…" mixer with Beta Theta Pi, a "B.C. Study tables were " mixer with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, a Mardi Gras mixer with Alpha Epsilon Pi, a popular way to encourage members "Cowboys & Indians" mixer with Pi Kappa Phi, and a low GPA to spend more time on their school work"P is for Party" mixer with Lambda Chi Alpha. Members also participated in Greek Week.

Some of This was an opportunity for the challenges faced by Gamma Zeta women to bond as a sisterhood and participates in 2009 events such as Organized Cheer, a blood drive, Olympic Day, and 2010 were communications Coin Wars. In March the chapter won the Spirit Award for Relay for Life on campus and stealingraised more money than any other Greek organization. Officers improved their ways The relay theme was "England" and sisters dressed up as traditional English guards as part of communicating with chapter members regarding mandatory event attendancea fundraiser. Measures were taken to reduce Delta Kappa participated in Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Paddy Murphy Week and won the risk of stealing personal items first place trophy! Sisters competed in the house a brother's auction, a pageant, and flag football. The chapter also competed in membersLambda Chi Alpha' mailboxess Watermelon Bust, which included such events as a volleyball tournament and decorate a brother contest. Delta Kappa came in second place in this contest.

Elections were held towards the end of spring semester. The chapter celebrated its sisterhood by going on a chapter trip to see the musical "Wicked" in downtown Miami. By the end of the school year, women were ready to relax and have fun. The formal was held at the Dadeland Marriot and all had a fantastic time dancing the night away.

Delta Kappa kicked off the fall semester with Continuous Open Bidding Recruitment events. Four wonderful new members were welcomed into the chapter. An exciting new project to raise money for Reading is Fundamental was held. The Delta Kappa is the proud home of the KappaGirl lipstick, a color that is just Kappa Kappa Gammas. The proceeds from the sales of these lipsticks benefit RIF. The project has been very successful so far and will hopefully carry on in the future. The end of September brought Kappa'''Housing:''' Seventys new and improved philanthropy weekend. Besides the annual volleyball tournament that benefits Camillus House, the chapter held a coin wars competition and co-five Gamma Zeta members lived in hosted a comedy night at the house in 2006Rat Restaurant on campus, where a writer from The Daily Show performed. The weekend was very successful and raised $2,000.

In October, members participated in the Pi Kappa Alpha Pike Platoon, where members competed in various events and cheered on a sister in a pageant. Founders Day was celebrated this month with a very successful brunch with the alumnae association at a hotel in downtown Coral Gables. Members also enjoyed the fall semester by going to football games together and cheering on the Hurricanes. By the end of October it was time for a favorite chapter event - Homecoming. Chapter women participated in events such as a blood drive, Organized Cheer, an Alma Mater singing contest, a parade float contest, and a philanthropy day called Hurricanes Help the Hometown. The chapter came in second place for the second year in row in Homecoming events. In November members created and performed a dance for Sigma Phi Epsilon's Dance for the Heart contest.

The Delta Kappa chapter is proud of its strong sisterhood that received financial or volunteer support from the it has had since its founding in 1938. The Delta Kappa chapter members included Race for the Cureare extremely involved on campus, with leadership positions in such organizations such as Homecoming Committee, Rose McGill Magazine DriveStudent Government, RIFUMTV, the Ally Adelman FoundationYearbook, and the Bobbi Olsen's Foundation for Women's Cancer Researchcountless other organizations. The chapter has continued its involvement in multiple philanthropic events as well.

Social, scholastic, and philanthropic events continued to fill the calendars of members of Gamma Zeta. Activities included Dad's Weekend, study hours, sisterhood events, Sigma Chi Derby Days philanthropy, Firefighter Challenge philanthropy, recruitment review sessions, Hoops for Hope philanthropy for Cystic Fibrosis, Spring Fling, theme parties, Greek Week, Senior Week, Recruitment, War of Roses philanthropy, Parent's Weekend, Founders Day, and Homecoming Week. A Kappa Trainer visited the chapter in 2011 and educated the members about Kappa standards and protocol.

 

As of current 86 women live in the house, located across the street from campus. It is the hub of the chapter members and creates the dynamic and lasting friendships between the members of Gamma Zeta.

 

Philanthropy efforts included Toast for Technology, Tucson Clean and Beautiful, cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House, and working at a community food bank. As a chapter, Gamma Zeta hosts a 3 on 3 basketball tournament at the University of Arizona, Hoops for Hope.

Throughout the year of 2012, the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma participated in a variety of events, both social and also philanthropic, representing our chapter on campus. Classes resumed on Wednesday, January 11th, but our house re-opened several days before, Sunday, January 8th, to allow the girls time to unpack and get settled before beginning classes again.

Our first chapter meeting was held on Monday, January 16thThe chapter’s annual RIF fundraiser is our book fair. Throughout 2012 the month of FebruaryDelta Kappa chapter worked tirelessly to improve their recruitment strategy. In the spring, many philanthropy projects were held, such as Adopt their hard work paid off with a Street and Ronald McDonald volunteering. On the 14th new member class of Februarynearly 50, we held a Valentine’s Day Sisterhood event more than tripling the previous years intake. The Kappa 'canes also focused heavily on academics and later during 2012 moved up in the month we had Mom’s weekend, February 24th-26th, in which rankings of sorority GPA's while remaining above the ladies were able to spend time with each other and their momsall student average. Bid Day took place sister Lauren Ruben, worked tirelessly on August 19th, where the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma welcomed 82 new membersa campus wide hurricane sandy relief fund. The president was Lauren Mueller and the recruitment chair 2012 was Amy Noble. The new member chair, Audrey Lewter, did a fantastic job informing the new members year of great success in recruitment and academics as well as social and campus wide events for the history sisters of the Gamma Zeta Delta Kappa chapter. !

To celebrate the holidays, Kappa hosted the Kappa Kozy event on December 4th, in which the girls participated in a gingerbread house decorating competition, was well as other holiday games. As the end of the semester came to a close, the girls really buckled down for their upcoming finals; the last day of finals being December 13th. Overall, the year of 2012 for the Gamma Zeta chapter was an outstanding and successful year. On April 14th we had Our sister, Becky Taylor, won Homecoming Queen, marking the 3rd year in a cookie-decoration event with Alumni, which was row that a great experience for our girls to bond with Kappa has been crowned. Additionally, 2013 marked the 75th anniversary of Delta Kappa Gamma alumna. We also held events with other sororities like academic programming with Chi Omega in order at the University of Miami and the Miami Alumni Association hosted a beautiful Founders Day at the Coral Gables Country Club to spread Panhellenic love. Throughout celebrate the semester we had a few other date dashesanniversary. Bid Day took place on August 25thThroughout the year, Delta Kappa continued its weekly Reading Buddies program where the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma welcomed 96 new members. The education chairtapped into Iron Arrow, Hayley Shwartzthe highest honor at our university, ran the event which was a great day involving the participation of and many alumnisisters tapped into Rho Lambda among others. Following this, we had Parent’s Weekend, as well as Pledge Presents. Over this past yearAs always, construction has continued to take place the University of Miami is continuing to expand its campus. In the trolley system that will run around campus and travel downtownspring of 2013, as well as to University Boulevard. This system travels along the street located in front Greek community expanding with the re-chartering of the Kappa house. It is now being tested for use Sigma fraternity and will be usable the re-chartering of Chi Omega in the near futurefall. Also, a new couch was added We welcomed Chi Omega to the house Panhellenic community and the courtyard hosted a joint “Owl-Ween” event in October in the middle honor of both our apartments was renovated. The kitchen was also updated. Our wifi system was improved so that our members can have better internet connection all over the housesymbols being owls. As always, the University of Arizona is a beautiful and sunny campus with wonderful scenery. Most days of the year, the weather is warm and inviting, encouraging students We plan to spend time outside. Kappa Kappa Gamma is located directly behind the Student Union, making it extremely accessible to members. Due to its location and large size, the house is easily noticed for all continue to see. The Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is one of the largest chapters on the campus of the University of Arizona. 95 women were initiated into grow our relationship with this chapter this past yearin future semesters.

Each In terms of building expansion, the Student Activities Center was finally unveiled in the fall of 2013—a beautiful three story building overlooking Lake Osceola that is home to student organization suites, ballrooms, offices, and everyone of the girls within our chapter have been striving for successnew Rathskeller. The Toppel Career Center is building built and moving to Ponce de Leon Boulevard. Additionally, the Mahoney dining hall under went massive renovations to both academically the interior and sociallyexterior over the summer of 2013. While actively getting to know all The Hecht-Stanford dining hall is expecting similar renovations in the summer of their new sisters2014. There is also major construction around the Frost Music School, girls were keeping up with their academicsalthough it is insure if all the building space will be just for recording studios or perhaps classrooms and offices as well. This chapter The university is composed of classy women that represent constantly renovating and adding to the campus life, and there will surely be many more adjustments in the ideal of Kappa Kappa Gammanear future.

Overall, 2013 was an exciting year for Delta Kappa where the sisters continued to foster relationships with one another and other chapters and organizations. We pride ourselves on upholding the Kappa values in our daily lives. A sense of trust and friendship is felt throughout the chapter and we pride ourselves on having the connection of true sisterhood—something special to all of us.

Additionally, University of Miami’s annual Greek Week took place in the girls time to unpack spring of 2014 and Kappa Kappa Gamma took 2nd and sister Michaela Hennessey took second place in the Greek God and Goddess competition and get settled before beginning classes againthey also took second place in the organized cheer portion of the competition. In the new members attended many rookie recruitment meetings spring we hosted our first ever Kick it with the recruitment chairKappa soccer tournament, Grace Herr, in order to prepare inspired by FIFA. The philanthropy raised money for fall recruitmentReading is Fundamental. Each fraternity that participated represented a different country. Ritual Review meetings also took place Lambda Chi won the philanthropy and the prize was a social event with our Marshall, Natalie Ramirez, sisters. The Delta Kappa chapter also has restarted their reading buddies program in which the sisters read to children ever week at a local community center. The chapter hopes to become informed of initiation expand upon our philanthropic efforts and chapter ritualsraise even more money for Reading is Fundamental in the future.

Throughout The fall and spring semester brought the members of the Delta Kappa chapter even closer. The chapter also hosted our sisterhood event in the yearspring, many philanthropy projects were which was kayaking in the keys and a yoga event in the fall in which each member was gifted a yoga mat and a mat strap.  The chapter has held weekly, such as Adopt several mixers throughout the fall and spring semesters in addition to a Street date function and Ronald McDonald House volunteering our formal in order to give back the spring and semi-formal in the fall.  The sisters of Delta Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma continue to be an integral part of the University of Miami community . Many sisters were tapped into prestigious honor societies including Rho Lambda and give Order of Omega. Sisters Holly Bensur and Melissa Damas were tapped into Iron Arrow, the highest honor at the University of Miami. One of our members frequent opportunities sisters was elected onto the PanHellenic Executive Board and two sisters were elected PanHellenic coordinators. The sisters are involved in the Ibis Yearbook, Distraction Magazine, No Zebras, Relay for Life, Dance Marathon and may more organizations. With such a strong involvement on campus the sisters of the Delta Kappa chapter continue to be role models and fundamental parts of the University of Miami community.  The University of Miami continues to serveexpand and improve its campus for its students. On Both of the 8th dining halls on campus have been remodeled and redone to benefit students. The Frost School of February, we held music has a Valentine’s Day Sisterhood event building consisting of more practice rooms for students to utilize. In the summer of 2013 the Hurricane Food Court was remodeled and new dining options were added. Such choices include Subway and Tossed. The University also broke ground on a new hospital being built on campus and in the 13th we had process has moved Dickinson Drive over a cookie-decorating eventstreet. The University also announced that president Donna Shalala will be stepping down at the end of the spring 2015 semester; it is unclear who will take over the role. On February 7th we The Kappa Kappa Gamma suite, which is part of a University building, has had our formal date dashits bathroom and kitchen redone and has been painted and has new furniture. Overall, 2014 was an awesome year for the Delta Kappa chapter. Sisters continue to become closer with one another and also continue to foster relationships with other organizations. The sisters hold their selves to the Kappa values and feel they have the connection of sisterhood—a bond that can never be broken. ==Highlights of 2015==The Delta Kappa chapter kicked off the spring semester with recruitment and bid day, and quickly after we fell into Greek Week in which we were paired with Sigma Chi and Alpha Epsilon Pi who donated blood and helped raise over $30,000 for United Cerebral Palsy. We also participated in other fraternity and sorority philanthropies, where we helped raise money for other causes through raffles, coin wars, restaurant fundraisers, auctions, and participating in fun events. It is difficult to judge how much money was raised for each event because a great successlot of donations are based upon individual contributions of cash, and are not documented in our billhighway system (other than entry fee and shirt orders). Later This spring we participated in events and raised money for Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Sigma Pi, and Sigma Phi Epsilon and won Lambda Chi Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi, and Kappa Sigma’s philanthropies’. We also contributed money and won the Panhellenic Circle of Sisterhood fundraiser. In the month fall we had Dad’s weekendparticipated in events and raised money for Zeta Beta Tau, Alpha Sigma Phi, Lambda Chi Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi, and won Beta Theta Pi’s Beta Blast Off. Our Vice President Organization created an excel document with goals for Chapter Council created by input from the entire chapter on an anonymous forum. Chapter Council, February 22th-24thor CC, checked in regularly to see if we were meeting these goals, what we could do to better achieve them, and what we may need to change to fit the path our chapter was taking. We planned a sisterhood trip to Disney World and got matching shirts made, and it was so fun we are still talking about it almost a year later! We had two sisters, Keelin Beelski and Rori Kotch get tapped into Iron Arrow which is the highest honor you can receive at the ladies University of Miami. We also had sisters tapped into Order of Omega, Rho Lambda, and Omicron Delta Kappa. Our chapter also received a community service award at the AGLO Awards night, and we had sisters win individual awards. In Spring 2015, headquarters visited us and told us we were able going to be suspended due to spend time our low recruiting numbers. This news came as a surprise seeing as we were in good standing with each other the fraternity before recruitment. The University of Miami, Delta Kappa, ad alumni community pulled together to support us, and a few days later the decision was reversed. This roller coaster brought our sisters closer together than ever and their dadshas encouraged us to work hard for this upcoming 2016 recruitment. On February 27th In the Fall we teamed up with Alpha Sigma Phi for Homecoming 2015, we attended and had a blast participating in the boat burning/fireworks, building a parade float, dancing in Organized cheer, creating an ornament for the Spirit Tree, painting a Wynwood mural,creating a presentation small scale model of the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, and cheering on nutritionour football team to victory against Virginia. Our standards committee hosted our first, but certainly not last, cupcake wars where sisters teamed up to decorate the most creative cupcakes and on March 5th we had win prizes. This event was a sisterhood event called “How fun way to be Healthy” to help welcome our new members maintain and get to know them better. The committee also planned a holiday party, where we had a healthy lifestylesecret sister gift swap and a cookie exchange for everyone to get into the holiday spirit before finals.

Study hours were implemented during This year the University of Miami dedicated the Shalala Student Activity Center to our outgoing president Donna Shalala, and we welcomed Julio Frenk as our sixth president. We also recently opened up a new bridge across the semester lake on campus which was donated to ensure that the girls were keeping their grades upschool by a sister of our chapter’s family. Study hours occurred every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, We also fired our head football coach Al Golden and recently hired alum and Wednesday for 3 hoursformer quarterback Mark Richt. This On March 20-23rd Our chapter struggled through the few days we were suspended, but we participated grew closer as a chapter in the gentlemen of Sigma Chi’s philanthropy Derby Days. From March 28-30th we helped that gentlemen Spring 2015 semester and went into the summer with our hearts full of Pi Kappa Alpha with their philanthropy the Pike Firefighter Challenge. Starting on April 1st we had senior week all while maintaining regular recruitment practices love and ritual reviewssupport. We had Spring Fling with The chapter came into the men fall semester afraid of AEPI from April 8th-13th. It was a week filled with festivities, funthe future, but luckily our amazing chapter consultant Jessica Sitton has helped us through many of our problems and gamesquestions. We also help events with other sororities like academic programming with Chi Omega in order to spread PanHellenic love. Throughout the semester we had a few other date dashes. We held our annual philanthropy event, Hoops What organization(s) has your chapter historically/traditionally raised money for Hope, on March 29th headed by the philanthropy chair, Waverly Newton. Waverly ran a very smooth, successful, and organized event. $17,000 was raised and the money was or donated towards the Dermatology Division Arizona Cancer Center. We also hosted personal connection our very first food philanthropy, Kappa Kon Queso, which was a huge successchapter had with this disease.

The first part of the election process for the new Chapter Council began on November 3rd, and voting occurred on Monday, December 1st at chapter. The new members of Chapter Council were installed on December 8th, and began training with the old Chapter Council throughout the month of December. To celebrate the holidays, Kappa hosted the Kappa Kozy event on December 12th, in which the girls participated in a gingerbread house decorating competition, was well as other holiday games. As the end of the semester came to a close, the girls really buckled down for their upcoming finals; the last day of finals being December 17th. Overall, the year of 2014 for the Gamma Zeta chapter was an outstanding and successful year. The values and ideals of Kappa Kappa Gamma were upheld and the meaning of sisterhood was expressed throughout the various activities throughout the year.

After last year's construction ==Highlights of the new trolly system, construction is finally finished. It runs around campus and travels downtown, as well as to University Boulevard. This system travels along the street located in front of the Kappa house. As always, the University of Arizona is a beautiful and sunny campus with wonderful scenery. Most days out of the year, the weather is warm and inviting, encouraging students to spend time outside. Kappa Kappa Gamma is located directly behind the Student Union, making it extremely accessible for members. Due to its location and large size, the house is easily noticed for all to see.2016==

Gamma Zeta holds chapter every Monday in our chapter room located in our house. With our new 2014 initiated class being 109, it is a tight squeeze, but we make do.

Our house, owned by The Delta Kappa chapter started off the university, spring semester in January with both recruitment and bid day. Greek Week followed quickly after and we were paired with Lambda Chi Alpha and Kappa Sigma. We donated blood and being one of the largest on campushelped raise over $34, houses 84 girls000 for United Cerebral Palsy. There are four living styles; Throughout the sleeping porchyear we also participated and raised money for several fraternity’s philanthropies including Lambda Chi Alpha, the doublesKappa Sigma, Alpha Epsilon Pi, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Chi, west wing (4 or 6 person room) and the apartmentsAlpha Sigma Phi. The sophomres live In addition, we participated in the sleeping porchPanhellenic Pride Week this fall, the doubles and west wing in the housewhich raised $26, while the juniors typically live 000 in the apartments in the back. Each and everyone of the girls within our chapter have been striving three days for success, both academically and socially. While actively getting to know all of their new sisters, girls were keeping up with their academics. This chapter is composed of classy women that represent the ideal Circle of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Living in the house not only gives you a place to eat and sleep, but also a place to study and receive tutoring help if needed. Our sisters are our best resourcesSisterhood Foundation.

During Homecoming this fall, we paired up with Alpha Sigma Pi and had a great time participating and cheering on our team. We participated in the opening ceremony, Homecoming King and Queen, Organized Cheer, the parade, boat burning and fireworks. Our sister Toni Farrell competed in Homecoming King and Queen and was named a princess! Many of our chapter members were in the crowd to cheer her on.

==Highlights This year we had members tapped into Order of 2015==Omega, Rho Lambda, and Omicron Delta Kappa. We also had many sisters win individual awards at the AGLO awards night in the spring. During the Kappa Kappa Gamma convention this past summer, the Delta Kappa Chapter won the Gracious Living Award. We also received honorable mention for the Standards and Advisory Board categories.

Throughout the year of 2015Last January, the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma participated in a variety University of events, both social and also philanthropic, representing our chapter on campus. Classes resumed on Wednesday, January 14th, but our house re-opened several days before to allow Miami inaugurated the girls time to unpack and get settled before beginning classes again. The standards committee hosted Galentine’s Day, Movie Night with the yearTransfer Student Association, many philanthropy projects were held weeklyKKG Ribbon Making, such as Adopt and a Street and Ronald McDonald House volunteering field trip to Sky Zone in order to give back to the community and give our members frequent opportunities to servespring. On Throughout the 13th of Februaryfall semester, we held the committee hosted a Valentine’s Day Sisterhood spooky sisterhood eventand “stuff a plush.” The idea of stuff a plush was for sisters to make two stuffed animals, one for themselves and one to be donated to the children at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Later in The House committee also started hosting potluck dinners throughout the month we had Dad’s weekendsemester before chapter meetings, February 20th-22th, in which the ladies were able to spend time with each other and their dadsthere was even a macaroni and cheese contest during one of them. On February 27thTo wrap up the semester, we attended there was a chapter holiday dinner that included a cookie exchange as well as a presentation on nutritionwhite elephant gift exchange. On We hope that by planning many sisterhood events throughout the 10th of Marchsemester rather than a few big-budget ones, our sisters can become closer and we had can allow our Formal Date Dash, which was a great success!Delta Kappa bond to continue to grow.

Our chapter, for our all house GPA average for the spring semester of 2015 was 3.133 and our new members had an average of 3.5. We had several academic workshops including time management, final exam preparation, etc. We had Spring Fling with the men of Delta Tau Delta from April 6th-12th. It was a week filled with festivities, fun, and games. On April 13th-18th we participated in the gentlemen of Sigma Chi’s philanthropy Derby Days. Starting on April 20th we had senior week all while maintaining regular recruitment practices and ritual reviews. Before the Homecoming game, on April 11th Alumni stopped by to tour the house. We also help events with other sororities like yoga with Alpha Epsilon Phi, our sisterhood sorority, in order to spread PanHellenic love.

Throughout the semester we had a few other date dashes. We held our annual philanthropy event, Hoops for Hope, on May 2nd headed by the philanthropy chair, Jaime Hewitt. Jaime ran a very smooth, successful, and organized event. Approximately $31,000 was raised and the money was donated towards Stand up to Cancer. After Hoops for Hope was complete, girls took their finals and then moved out and back home with their families for a nice summer vacation. The girls returned to the Kappa Kappa Gamma house on August 19th, for Work Week and Formal Recruitment. Bid Day took place on August 23rd, where the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma welcomed 104 new members. The president was Morgan Agster and the recruitment chair was Kalyanne Younker. The new member chair, Emily Sill, did a fantastic job informing the new members of the history of the Gamma Zeta chapter.'''Philanthropy'''

Key Sis week began near Kappa Kappa Gamma as a national organization supports Reading is Fundamental. In the beginning Fall of September and continued through 2016, Delta Kappa took into consideration the middle importance of September. These weeks were when reading programs across the new girls were paired up with country that foster the older active members in order to get to know them imagination and feel more welcome in the chapter, as well as to potentially find their big/little. On September 4th the new members had a sleepover at Kappa to help them bond as a pledge classimprove reading performance. Our philanthropy chair, Hailey Clark, was in charge of our food philanthropy for the second time ever, Kappa Kon Queso on November 12th and it was a huge success.2017==

Having spent the election process for previous calendar year trying to increase the new Chapter Council began on November 9th's recruitment numbers, and voting occurred on Monday, November 30th at chapter. The new members of the Chapter Council were installed on December 7th, and began training with the old Chapter Council throughout Fraternity made the mutual decision to suspend operations at the month end of December. To celebrate the holidays2017-18 academic year, Kappa hosted with the Kappa Kozy event on December 6th, in which the girls participated in a gingerbread house decorating competition, was well as other holiday games. As the end hope of the semester came returning to a close, campus in the girls really buckled down for their upcoming finals; the last day of finals being December 17thyear 2022.
