''''''==Highlights of 2021=='''''' Eta Chi was nominated as a Sopher Chapter and won 2nd place in Homecoming. We set new records at both of our philanthropy events for funds raised. In the Fall we moved out of our House on Avent Ferry and into a new house in Greek Village. In November we celebrated Eta Chi’s 5th birthday. Chapter PhilanthropyEta Chi supported Feed the Pack to raise awareness for campus and student food insecurity and make an impact close to home and with members of our non-greek life and greek life community alike. Feed the Pack is a community-based initiative sustained by the greater NC State community to combat the food insecurity experienced by members of the Wolfpack family. In the Spring, Eta Chi held our annual Mac & Keys in a drive-thru style philanthropy event, supporting Reading is Fundamental. Members sold tickets to family and friends who drove through the roundabout in front of the house to pick up their macaroni and cheese meals cooked by Eta Chi’s chef. Eta Chi raised more than $5,000, setting a record for money raised for the event.In the fall, Eta Chi held our first ever Kappa Kares silent auction philanthropy event which supported the JED Foundation to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for teens and young adults in the United States. Eta Chi also teamed up with Theta Chi and held a Haunted House Philanthropy Event that supported the National Eating Disorder Association and the NC State Counseling Center. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Charlee Sherill was elected as our first DEI officer. She sat on the education committee and developed the foundation for us to incorporate DEI more directly into our chapter council for 2021 and in the future. Eta Chi’s chapter operations were changed due to COVID-19. In the Spring, all operations, recruitment, initiation, sisterhood events, review sessions, and executive meetings were all placed on Zoom. In the Fall things were close to back to normal. We had recruitment online for the first two days and in-person the last two days. Throughout the semester we were all so excited to finally be able to eat meals together at the house, have date functions, philanthropy events, chapter meetings, and initiation all in-person. For all in-person events, we followed CDC guidelines by requiring masks.
