		+	CHAPTER HISTORY REPORT
		+	Chapter Philanthropy
		+	This year we have also been able to work heavily to build our philanthropy. With many benefit
		+	nights at local restaurants, our annual Kappachino, and Mac n keys we were able to raise a total
		+	of $8,912 to be dispersed to our various philanthropies we support. Locally we have supported
		+	an organization called Baby Steps that empowers pregnant and parenting students
		+	facing an unplanned pregnancy at Auburn University to have their education and their babies by
		+	providing housing, support and community. Our partnership allowed us to support 3 mothers
		+	throughout the year and then buy all the gifts on their Christmas list. Our chapter went above and
		+	beyond and was even more successful than previous years. As Kappa Kappa Gamma transitioned
		+	to new philanthropy’s we had the opportunity to vote as a chapter which new philanthropy we
		+	were going to support. We voted and chose to add Active Minds since we have connections to
		+	the Auburn Chapter of Active Minds and would have many ways to help right here in our
		+	community.
		+	Diversity Equity and Inclusion
		+	This year the Epsilon Eta chapter made many strides towards becoming an even more inclusive
		+	chapter and sorority. This started with appointing a DEI coordinator who would be in charge of
		+	educating the chapter, coordinating programs for the chapter, and being a resource for any
		+	questions or concerns in regards to DEI. In the spring, she showed a TED talk during chapter
		+	about being the ally we need for positive developments in DEI and led a discussion following the
		+	presentation. In the fall, during pre recruitment she also showed a presentation and led a small
		+	group discussion surrounding this topic in order to keep open minds as we moved into
		+	recruitment. We also held several program chapters with various speakers to broaden our
		+	chapters' awareness. Also during interviews for leadership positions, the nominating committee
		+	asked a question regarding DEI in each one. We want our future leadership to be not only leaders
		+	and examples for our chapter but also leaders in pursuing better understanding and ownership
		+	over diversity, equity, and inclusion. In the new full board, there will now be a director position
		+	in charge of DEI support in our chapter.
		+	Operating in a Pandemic
		+	In a year of the unexpected, we had to learn how to best operate as a chapter in a global
		+	pandemic. The best way we did this is through accurate communication and transparency to all
		+	chapter members through it all. As shown previously, we held many virtual sisterhood events
		+	including trivia night and virtual baking. To best support the chapter, the dues were also broken
		+	down into installments for everyone. Our executive board also got to attend the annual leadership
		+	conference virtually. Once deemed safe we began to hold events in person while following all
		+	guidelines and regulations of Kappa as well as the university. Our risk director was very
		+	conscious of all of these rules and worked to educate the chapter on all the safety precautions
		+	necessary. We were able to hold events in shifts while capacity was still down and then as
		+	regulations shifted, more events this fall could be safely held with larger groups. In the midst of

		+	all of this, we were able to move up in our GPA ranking which is a huge success for the chapter

		+	In the midst of a global pandemic, the Epsilon Eta chapter has done nothing short of blossom as
		+	both a chapter and a sisterhood. In a time where we all needed a little extra support and love, we
		+	could always count on our members to show up and do just that. Outlined below is the
		+	breakdown of all the happenings of our chapter over the past year. From fun sisterhood events
		+	(virtual and in person), to philanthropy events, to socials, competitions, sports teams, to
		+	campaigns we have made the most of our time with each other.
		+	Over the past year we have not only been able to host fun events, but also receive honors as a
		+	chapter for our accomplishments. In the spring, our Primary Recruitment Director, Mary Collins
		+	made it to be a top five candidate for the Miss Auburn Campaign. The chapter came together in
		+	support of her campaign all week and we were so proud to honor her. In the spring we were also
		+	named the top fundraising sorority in the canned food drive led by our philanthropy director,
		+	Mattie Whitney. Also in the spring our chapter president, Megan Hagmaier was awarded the Dr.
		+	Lori Hart Panhellenic Convocation award. Come September another member, Charlotte Jannach
		+	was named the Auburn Panhellenic Scholar of the Month and another member, Sophie Alaniz
		+	was named the Woman of the Month. Along with all of these awards we have many sisters in
		+	leadership roles on campus from student recruiters to executive board of The Big Event to
		+	Honors College leadership to Head Pi Chi and Eagles Director to housing ambassadors and many
		+	more. Finally, as a chapter we earned two incentive awards for having the most vaccinated
		+	members of any organization on campus. We are proud of all that our sisters have been able to
		+	accomplish this year and are hopeful for the future leaders they all are becoming.

+This year has been very different for everyone and we made the most of it. Our recruitment was completely virtual, as well as our new member pinning and initiation. We stayed hopeful, but sadly after March we did not have any big in person events. We had some sisterhood events which we were able to do virtually or socially distanced, which was still fun. Recruitment was definitely a challenge, but everyone stepped up and helped each other in the confusing time. Our recruitment team was amazing and it made for a successful recruitment season! Our new member pinning and initiation were virtual, but still successful. We obtained an honorable mention for the Gracious Living Award (unhoused), the Panhellenic Award (12 or more Panhellenic groups), and the second highest award, Excellence in Chapter Management (Chapters with 180 or more members). In the Spring we were 11th in grades for Panhellenic groups. Our chapter has worked hard this year especially to keep members involved and sisterly. It is hard to feel the bond when you cannot see each other much, but we have been able to keep that goal this semester of being there for each other. We still managed to have some fundraisers for our philanthropies via Instagram and through benefit nights at different places around Auburn.

+We chose the Reading is Fundamental, Girls Academy and KKG Foundation as out philantrophies.  We chose RIF because we believe literacy is vital and important and all children should have access to reading materials and teachers to help them. We support Girls Academy because supporting young girls is so important. Middle School girls are so impressionable and this can lead to insecurities and feeling alone. We work to empower young women because this can give them a new confidence they have never had before. Girls are the future and we work to uplift them. We also support the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation because they are there to support our sisters. We have girls in the chapter who have received help from the Kappa Foundation in times of need and they are truly there to help.

		+	This year the Epsilon Eta chapter was involved in a RIF distribution day, shop nights, had our Kappa Con Queso event, our Kappaccino, and several benefit nights. As a chapter we received the Bettie Locke Award for Outstanding Panhellenic Participation. This award seeks to recognize a collegiate chapter that exemplifies the true spirit of belonging to the National Panhellenic Council, “upholding the traditions, fine standards, and values long held by Auburn women.” We also raised money and donated to relief for the flooding in Houston, to support our sisters who were affected by the flood. Our chapter also had trouble filling our sorority hall, we overcame it by having the freshmen sign the housing contract the night of bid night. Our chapter donates money to Reading is Fundamental and the Kappa foundation. We have been chosen to host a Girls' Academy, so money is also being raised for that event.

		+	In 2017, Auburn added a new nursing school building to the campus and added the Mell building to the Library. Einstein's Bagels was added in the Haley Center, and RBD Café was added into the library. We continue to hold our chapter meetings in our chapter room on campus.
